On this episode of The Small Business, Big Deal Podcast, we talk with Lisa Lahm and Leah Henderson, co-owners of Body Specific, a complete whole health center that offers massage, chiropractic care, acupuncture, skincare, waxing, a sauna and functional training.
Co-founded by Lisa and Leah in 2013, they combined their massage therapy and marketing skills to create a one-of-a-kind experience for their clients.
“Its not just you’re there for an appointment. We do try and make everybody’s experience the best that we possibly can,” said Lisa.
Before COVID-19, they often recruited new clients at community events by offering free massages. Their target customers are mostly women, ages 35 to 65, but their male clientele has definitely grown.
“We’ve noticed an uptick in couples’ massages. Huge!” said Leah.
The pandemic is likely responsible for most of that as couples search for ways to get out of the house and reconnect. Lisa and Leah consulted with emergency room and infectious diseases doctors to make sure their health center was clean and safe for clients and employees during COVID.
On this episode, Lisa and Leah also share:
- Benefits of using a sauna
- A client who has touched their hearts
- Why offering free services can be helpful
