Show Notes For This Episode

On today’s episode of the Small Business, Big Deal podcast, our guest is Aimee Rosenow, owner of a boutique marketing company, Evoke Creative Topeka.

Aimee is a family-oriented, small business consultant focused on helping retail shops and boutiques demonstrate their brand through website design, email marketing, and social media.

Before starting Evoke Creative Topeka, Aimee and a friend opened a children’s boutique, “Ethan + Anna,” in January 2017. It closed in January 2020 after her partner left to be with family and Aimee’s daughter shared her thoughts about the business.

“What really got me to the decision to close the boutique was my daughter saying to me, ‘Mom, can you close the boutique so we can actually see you?’ That still brings tears to my eyes,” said Aimee.

Aimee decided to open a new business, Evoke Creative, but this time she found a better work-life balance for her family.

During our interview, Aimee also shares:

  • How a conversation with another mom inspired her to open a children’s boutique
  • Why she began mentoring other business owners, especially moms
  • How she set up boundaries around her time
  • Key pieces of advice she gives business owners
  • Why she has turned down some clients
